Hello everyone! I'm so, so excited today to share pictures from my bridal shower with you all! On April 1, my mom and friends threw me a "Mad Men" 60's housewife bridal shower, held at the beautiful Pickwick Gardens in Burbank, CA. (Mr. BFT's mom helped, too!) I had such a great time and was so surprised by some of the really fun and creative details that everyone came up with. My only bridal shower request was NO STUPID GAMES. I didn't want to make a gown out of toilet paper or play Pin the Bow Tie on the Groom. My party was practically perfect in every way - A gazillion thanks to my mom, Mr. BFT's mama, Marcia, and Valerie! A special mention to my friend Hope who took the majority of these pictures! Thanks, Hope!
The day started with me getting my 60's big hair on at The Dry Bar, a treat from Mr. BFT's mama! (I may be a Dry Bar addict now, gulp.)
Then I wedged myself into the "Jackie O" dress I rented from Rent The Runway and headed to the venue.
Mr. Draper greeted guests at the door.
Special thanks to my friend Heather for loaning Don to us!
My mom does scrapbooking and put together this display of photos of me at Disneyland through the years! There's a whole lot of pink Dumbo on this board (some things never change).
The gals ordered these vintage style postcards which also doubled as my Thank You cards. Guests were asked to write their address on their favorite postcard so my Thank You cards would already be addressed. SO clever (and I'm very grateful - one less thing I have to do)!
An overflowing gift table was set up near the garden window.
My friend Wendy, a very talented pastry chef, offered to make cakes and cupcakes for the shower!
Yes, all the tiny flowers are handmade and totally edible (and delicious)! In keeping with my red and turquoise theme, the cake was red velvet.
As favors, I made fabric flower hair clips for everyone to wear or take home.
We had a table set up for crafting aprons! There were markers, stencils and iron-on transfers.
There was so much to see on the tables ....
My mom framed some photos from when my grandfather worked in advertising in the 1960s - so perfect for the theme! The ladies also got candy cigarettes, also perfect!
For lunch we had tea, scones, and tiny sandwiches.
For dessert we had the red velvet cupcakes and also some Bailey's cupcakes made by my cousin, Julie! I'm so lucky to have so many talented bakers in my life!
After eating we headed over to the craft table.
"Warning" - haha
Once we finished with decorating aprons, it was time to open gifts. I was overwhelmed with tons of amazing gifts. I certainly felt "showered" with attention. Here is just a SMALL sampling of thoughtful presents.
Vintage-y nightie for sexy times.
Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel wedding plushies
My Aunt found this incredible Disney Princesses tea set at a vintage store - what a find!
Slow cooker! I was SUPER excited about this one!
The Unofficial Mad Men Cookbook - perfect!
Aside from making cupcakes, my cousin Julie made this adorable (and complicated!) booze bouquet! Mmm ... assorted booze.
One of the hostesses Marcia carefully crafted this ribbon bouquet while I was opening gifts. I must remember to bring it to the rehearsal!
After opening presents we sat around a chatted and posted for more pictures with Don.
My fab hostesses - Valerie and Marcia
Mr. BFT's mom and my mom!
My Disneyland bride friends.
Even Grandma got in on the Draper action.
Soon we were cramming gifts into my car, Tetris-style and hugging everyone goodbye. It was a fabulous day! I couldn't have asked for a better bridal shower. I am very humbled and grateful to have so many wonderful people in my life.

What a gorgeous bridal shower! I love the theme and how everything went along with it so perfectly. It seems like a really fun time, the idea to make aprons is so creative!
