I am leaving for Alt Summit in two (!!!) days, and as many of you, I consider myself to be "style challenged." I generally shop for clothes in the clearance section of Forever 21, the kids section at Target (I know, creeper), and the Disney Store. My wardrobe needs a little help. (It's on my Life List to "find my style." It's in me, somewhere.)
I am also horribly indecisive, which is where YOU come in. Oh dear readers, please help me pick what to wear during Alt Summit!
I have compiled a few different looks but I need your input. Do these things match? Is bling still cool? Will the attendees laugh at me if I wear my fake Uggs? I DON'T KNOW.
So please cast your vote in the comments and help me decide what to wear. And when you see me on Instagram wearing the outfit of your choice, you can tell your friends "I helped her pick that out." It will only be slightly lying.

Paired with this peach dress with gold polka dots - mint or purple tights? (EDIT: A friend told me that the mint would make me look like I have zombie legs, but aren't zombies, like, totally trendy right now?)
For walking around Downtown Salt Lake City on night 1 (these are the only two shoes I have that are equipped for cold and possibly snow) - basic black booties or Coach shearling boots? (EDIT: I should add that the Coach boots have been weatherproofed.)
For the Clue party (I'm going as Professor Plum!) - Peacock medallion necklace or 5 strand beaded necklace?
For the daytime with my orange sweater - Bronze bow necklace or mixed beads necklace?
Finally, I found this hat that matches my branding for Blogging It Forward. Does it make me look gangster (awesome) or do I look super foolish? I honestly don't know!

ReplyDeleteI shop the same and I think I do okay, so take the advice with a grain of cookie crumbs: Mint tights with gold dot dress, Coach booties (I think they'd be warmer than the other boots- but if you're pairing it with the dress then I'd say the black boots instead), peacock medallion (so pretty! Where was that when I was geting married!!??), mixed beads if you're trying to look "classy lady", but bow if you're trying to look "cute" (personally I'm a bow girl all the way ;) ), and finally the purple tiara cap is pimp. If you don't wear it I will! :)
P.S. I'll go shopping with you!

Although admittedly I also shop at a lot of the same places. ;-) I agree with pretty much what Hope already listed. Mint tights, Coach boots, peacock necklace, bow necklace but I like the beads too! And I love the hat! Perfect!!! Also- I think you have the same dress as one of my sisters! Super cute! She sent me a pic of it recently! :)

DeletePurple tights; coach boots (it's so damn cold here, those looks like they'll do the job better, oh and extra socks, I'm dead serious); the 5 strand necklace; I like the bow, but I guess the other one looks good too, so I cant help you out there, boo; rock that hat for sureeeeee; and kate spade, that bag is gorgeous!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the first outfit, it's so so cute. But really, they all look great. :) I just want you to know you should plan for warmth when you're out of the Grand. If you layer up, you'll be good anywhere!
Thanks Anita! I have my pullover sweater, my cardigan, and my heavy coat. I think I'll be okay for the brief walk to the Grand. I sure hope we get to meet up this weekend!
