Hey everyone! Did you watch the Oscars tonight? I hadn't seen any of the nominated movies except for Lincoln (even thought we get all the screeners - I'm too busy to watch them) so I was cheering for that. I tried to watch Argo but fell asleep. So apparently I'm not the best person to go to for movie recommendations. BUT I do like to talk about fashion! There are my favorite trends from the Oscars' red carpet.
Ball gowns - A classic done three different ways (and don't worry JLaw, I would have tripped too, which is why I chose a knee length wedding dress).
Royal Blue - Blue was big on the red carpet this year. And how good does Jennifer Hudson look in that slinky snakeskin-ish gown?!
Smoky eye + nude lip - I noticed this makeup combo a lot and I really love the more natural look.
Art Deco - These geometric lines and metallic colors really remind me of the Art Deco period. Stacy Keibler's stylist - if you're out there, can you call me, please? I need your help.
Top Faves - These gowns don't have anything in common except that they were my three favorites. Check out the ombre layers on Zoe's dress! I want to start seeing this on wedding gowns. Kerry is rocking the gold and pink (I'm still loving Honeysuckle), and Octavia ALWAYS looks like a million bucks. I die over that tulle wrap.
UPDATE - Last minute contender for Best Dressed: Michelle Obama!

Thank you for the recap! I missed a big chunk of the red carpet this year. I didn't like Anne Hathaway's pink dress. It looked weird. I also didn't like Salma Hayek's neck-choking dress. It looked like she had a ginormous head and small body. I liked Jennifer Lawrence's dress a lot! It's too bad she tripped over it, but fashion hurts sometimes. ;)
