Mother’s Day is this Sunday, and what a great excuse it is to go to Disneyland! The Disneyland Hotel is not doing their special Mother’s Day brunch this year but PCH Grill at Disney’s Paradise Pier and Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel have some special dishes just for Sunday.

PCH Grill will have a smoked Scottish salmon station, parfait yogurt station, roasted chicken and vegetables along with all the usual brunch buffet favorites.

Storytellers Cafe will have made-to-order omelets, brioche French toast with blackberry compote, roasted salmon with tangerine vinaigrette, carved beef, and corned beef hash with poached eggs and chipotle orange hollandaise sauce.

Both buffets are $33.99 for adults, and $16.99 for ages 3 to 9.

If you’re heading into Disneyland, stop by Carnation Cafe (MAKE RESERVATIONS) for their special mahi mahi with spinach orzo and a shrimp broth, or Plaza Inn for their spicy glazed salmon with chipotle-pineapple glaze, veggies and mushroom quinoa. And finally, the special at Blue Bayou is crab-stuffed shrimp with tomato-artichoke sauce. (I think I’ll stick with the Monte Cristo.)

And now the moment you’ve all been waiting for … dessert! You can find this red velvet cupcake with sparkly white chocolate mousse frosting at the following locations: Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe in Disneyland, Fiddler, Fifer, & Practical Cafe and Pacific Wharf Cafe in DCA, the Coffee House at Disneyland Hotel and Surfside Lounge at Paradise Pier.

I want that cupcake! Is it usually crowded for Mother’s Day? We were thinking about going in the morning. Oh, and when we were there last week, Plaza Inn was closed for remodeling – is it open again? I hope so!

There was some concern about Plaza Inn on the Disney parks blog post, so I’m honestly not sure! They are acting like it will be open. Disneyland is a popular place for Mother’s Day so expect it to be a little more crowded than normal. As always I recommend people get there as soon as the park opens as people tend to come in the late morning and early afternoon in droves.

Thanks, Mindy! It was crowded, but not crazily so… and I totally got a cupcake, and it was awesome and looked exactly like the picture, haha. It got hot, so we didn’t stay super long. Sadly, Plaza Inn was not open – though the seating area was.
